THE LAST ONE
I lowkey feel kind of happy because the end of this project means the school year is coming to an end, but this project has been super fun and I am sad it is basically over. It’s unfortunate that we were not able to reach our end goal of 6 vlogs, but this past week has been full of events and we weren’t able to put anything together. I was in the Dominican and missed 4 days of school, Emily and Gracie were taking their AP world exam on Wednesday (Genius Hour day), and we were all busy on the weekend, so we weren’t able to get together and make a video. I suspect we will finish working on our presentation this week. I’m not sure when Genius Hour presentations will take place, but it will probably be in the next few weeks, and that will mark the end of this project. I had mentioned the idea of us continuing to film in the previous blog post. We haven’t discussed it yet, but I’m definitely down, and I think Gracie and Emily would want to too. Our summer vlogs would go crazy:)))) Update on our last vlog:
We are pretty pleased with that considering we had a falling off on our Surge vlog (it only got 53 views…), so we got our comeback. Total subscribers- 42 The main question regarding the finalization of this project and our presentation is “Were we successful?” I believe we can confidently answer “yes”. Even though we didn’t exactly reach our goal for subscribers or videos, we found something we really enjoyed doing together. We learned new things about each other and became closer friends. There is no duo in our trio:)) And it’s not like we didn’t get views or anything, we did ayayayay. One last time for this project.., YO WHAT IS UP YOUTUBE

ALMOST DONE…
Our 5th vlog is up yayayayayay! Emily posted it on Thursday. It has 82 views and 8 likes. The video is basically just us at Emily’s house, but we have 2 special guests… Skylar and Daniela :). I lowkey don’t really remember the timeline of this week, but I’ll try and remember for the sake of this blog post. We got together on Saturday and filmed!! Our vlog is our longest vlog yet. It’s 13 minutes and 51 seconds long. The editing is super funny in my expert opinion (thanks Emily). This week on Wednesday is when most of the editing got done. Gracie and I worked on our presentation while Emily edited. We weren’t in a rush to post since we posted last week, so the video went up on Thursday. It’s so crazy how next week is our last week. We’re still not 100% sure what we are going to do for our final vlog. We had the idea that we would go to Olive Garden with Munch and Crunch (Lilly, Maggie, and Hannah) and have a little collab, but they went to Olive Garden the day after we filmed our vlog and we were all busy that day, so we weren’t able to go with them, which sucks. I don’t know if we are going to try and plan something else with them, or try and go to Olive Garden by ourselves. Either way, it’s gonna eat, so stay tuned. It’s a bittersweet feeling how our project is coming to an end. I’ve loved making videos with my big-backed besties. We had mentioned continuing to make videos this summer to see if we can grow our channel even more, and I think that sounds so fun. We have one more week, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish during this last week! 2 weeks left!
We would not have survived this week if we had school on Friday. Our posting schedule has been kind of different this week. Monday was our Genius Hour day, so Emily showed me and Gracie the unfinished video that she had been working on. We changed some things and added some new clips, so the Surge vlog was posted on Monday. So far, our Surge vlog has
We are not sure why this video has not gotten that many views, but putting it into perspective, it's only 5 days old, so it has some time to grow. We also got together and filmed again this week on Friday. Now we are back on track to reach our final goal of 6 vlogs. In this video, we basically just vlogged the sleepover we had with Skylar and Daniela. The problem is, we were having so much fun that we forgot to vlog most of it; or we just didn’t want to because it wasn’t the vibe. I think we got some good footage though, and I hope it makes a good video. We took the cutest pictures ever, so a wins a win. (GO LIKE GRACIE’S INSTA POST) We were so big backed the entire night; I ate so much. We also made a candy salad and it was so good! Go like Skylar’s TikTok of us making it. It’s funny, laugh. I think Emily plans on editing the video today or tomorrow, so it should be up by Monday at the latest. If we don’t have enough footage, we decided we would vlog at school a little bit, so it might be later if that is the case. Next week, we get to take a break from vlogging, which is very much needed. (It’s so hard being a famous influencer :((( ) Week 9 was crazy…
So we went to Surge 😛 It was so much fun. We went on Friday after school, so it wasn’t super busy which was nice. Gracie’s parents drove us (Thanks Jojo) and Jojo even jumped with us, and it was so fun. Most of the footage we got was of us jumping, but we also played a game where we asked each other questions about ourselves and if you got it wrong you got pushed into the pit. Gracie and Emily climbed the Rubix cubes and Gracie got hurt :(, but she powered through. We also interviewed 2 little boys and they were so sweet. That was probably my favorite part because they were excited to be on a YouTube channel. EMILY WENT CRAZY AND DID A BACKTUCK!! (don’t play with her) Going into this vlog, we had the idea to use mics. We thought we needed them because we assumed Surge would be loud. The problem with this is that we don’t have mics, and we could only afford a cheap one that probably wouldn’t be good quality. But to solve this problem we asked Ellie Deez if we could borrow her mics and she said yes yayayayayay! So we took her mics to Surge and used them there. But when we went back and watched the videos we took, we found that the mics made the audio kind of obnoxious. I’m still glad we brought them because it’s better than not being able to hear us at all, but the quality just isn’t the best. The video has not been uploaded yet because Emily is a slacker and hasn’t finished editing it yet, but hopefully, it will go up either later tonight or tomorrow. We’re doubling up on videos again so another video will go up later this week. Week 12 is coming up so fast. It’s kind of crazy how fast this project has gone by, and this whole school in general. GO WATCH OUR VIDEO AS SOON AS IT’S UPLOADED!! (hurry up Emily) YO, WHAT IS UP YOUTUBE WE ARE BEHIND!!! :))
So we didn’t get a chance to film our video this week, unfortunately. Gracie had practice until late on Friday, I (Clara) had a track meet on Saturday and didn’t get home until late, and Stephanie's birthday party was on Sunday. It sucks we were so busy because we had a good idea for a video, but it’s okay because we are going to film it this week. Our plan to get back on track: We are going to film a video next week, and week 10, so we’ll have 5 total videos and we’ll be all caught up. Yay! This week, we made a TikTok account to try and help promote our channel more. We are not able to post yet though because I accidentally made the username my name instead of “Behind the Cam Vlogs”, and I can’t change the name for seven days. But this week will be posting on the account. Feedback on our last video - Our third vlog didn’t receive as much attention at first, but now, it has 105 views and 10 likes, which isn’t too bad. Originally, we were kind of upset that we didn’t get as many views as our last video, but then on Monday, Mr. Barker told us that it was his favorite vlog so far, and that made us feel much better. (Thanks for your support Mr. Barker you’re the best.) One reason why our newest video didn’t get as many views could be because it’s a little longer than our other videos. Our videos have been averaging about 8 minutes long, and our third vlog was around 11 minutes long. “Some people won’t sit through eleven minutes of anything.” - Mr. Barker Anyways, the goals for this week are to
Our fourth vlog is going to eat so hard to stay tuned!! Past the halfway mark!
The fact that Genius Hour is over halfway done already is crazy. It feels like we just started. Anyways, this week was supposed to be an off week and we weren’t supposed to film a video, but since we weren’t able to film a video for week six, we filmed one this week. So we are back on track to reach our goal of six videos!! This week, we filmed a “clips from our week” kind of video. It was inspired by “A Week in My Life” type of videos. It was somewhat difficult to film this because we only have one class together, and we couldn’t exactly film while we were in class doing work, so it was a challenge. It was also the first week back to school after spring break, so we were tired the whole week. I expect that we will all be tired and busy until the end of the school year, but hopefully, we can prevail and make some amazing videos. As I said, we filmed a “clips from our week” video. This video mainly contained us interviewing people, which wasn’t exactly ideal for me (Clara) (I wanted to do blind karaoke so flipping bad but nobody else wanted to. Whatevs.), but it was pretty fun. Out of all our videos so far, I think this one was the most fun to film. As for the entertainment value, it can get boring listening to everyone get interviewed, but the video as a whole is still super funny in our expert opinion :). We featured so many of our friends in this video, and I think that’s one of the things that makes this video great. Our stats so far for this video (it was posted 9 hours ago)
Subscribers - 34 I think we should plan out a strategy to get more subscribers so we can reach our goal. We’ll probably do this on Wednesday. (Subscribe right now if you haven’t already) STAY TUNED FOR NEXT WEEK BECAUSE OUR NEXT VIDEO IS GONNA BE HYPE!! Halfway!!
So this week did not go as planned… We had planned to vlog a week/day in our lives, but that did not happen. I think everyone is tired and ready for spring break, so we lacked the motivation to come up with ideas. This week was stressful and difficult for all of us, so unfortunately, we won’t be able to post a vlog this week. It would be nice if we could vlog during spring break, but I’m (Clara) going to the beach and won’t be back til Sunday. Emily and Gracie could do something if they wanted to, but we agreed we all need to be in the video. Since we won’t post this week, it’ll mean we are behind. We plan to fix this by filming a vlog the week we get back (week 7) and the week after that (week 8). If we do this, we will be back on track to reach our goal of 6 videos. Another reason we weren’t able to vlog was we were more focused on the design challenge. It was super fun and we loved making a commercial for biggie bags, but it did somewhat intrude on our Genius Hour day, and we weren’t able to have a full day to work on our project because lets be honest we barley did anything today because it’s Friday and we’re all dead :). Something we definitely need to do over spring break is brainstorm vlog ideas. We have some ideas and collabs cooking, but we’re not 100 percent sure how to execute them because none of us can drive. We want to collab with Munch and Crunch even though they’re goofy and literally are praying on our downfall. I really hope we can work this idea out because I think it would produce a super funny vlog. Pray for us that we will get back on track after spring break :) Week 5!!
This week we lowkey did not do much. We all knew we had to be productive but we just couldn’t. We think our next vlog will be a “week in our lives” or something like that. This way we can film at school and we don’t have to meet outside of school (are we sick of each other??). This week on Genius Hour Day, Mr. Barker played our vlog on the big screen, and it was a little awkward because the three of us were laughing at OUR OWN jokes and no one else was, but it's okay they just don’t get how funny we are. Emily was able to pull up our channel's stats so we could see how our channel is growing. As of right now, our first vlog has
The growth we have achieved just from week 2 to week 4 is pretty incredible. We have 80 more views on our second vlog than our first vlog, and we’re very excited to see this number grow even more. I have some screenshots from our YouTube Studio that I will input that show our stats even more in-depth. These screenshots show our total number of views (which has gone up since we took this screenshot), our total watch time, and also our returning and new viewers. As I said before, we think we are going to vlog a “week in our lives” this week. We’re not sure how this is going to go, but we’ll figure it out. We don’t know how we’re going to make it entertaining. Many YouTubers that we watch film these kinds of videos, so maybe we can get inspiration from them. Next week is the halfway mark!! Stay tuned for our third vlog! Our second vlog is up!!
On Saturday, we all met at my house (Clara) and filmed our second vlog. We cooked pasta salad, but with a twist. Gracie was deaf, Emily was blind, and Clara was mute. It was difficult, but it was so funny, and I think the vlog turned out hilarious. We also slapped each other with tortillas and yapped (we played Would You Rather?). We had to stop filming after this because Gracie's phone was about to die and it was becoming radioactive, but after we yapped, we went for a walk and rode in the Can-Am. So far, our video has 20 views and 7 likes. It was only posted two hours ago, so that is not too bad. We also gained one subscriber. I think that this vlog turned out better than our first vlog, but I am a little worried it will not do as well as our last one. I think our second vlog is funnier, but I know some people do not have the same humor as us, so we will see. As for the technological part, I think we improved. Emily added some editing aspects that were not in our first video. For example, she figured out how to add music to the background, and that added to the humor element of our video. There are definitely some things we still need to work on. For example, while we are sitting and yapping, it is kind of hard to hear what we are saying. It can easily be fixed by turning up the volume, but that is somewhat annoying. We have talked about getting a microphone, but we are all broke and we don't have jobs. We could all chip in and buy a cheap microphone, but it almost doesn't seem practical considering we probably won't continue to vlog after we finish our Genius Hour Project. We will probably discuss this further this week on Wednesday. I think our fourth week of Genius Hour was very much a success, and I can't wait to plan our next video! You can watch our new vlog under the contact page. Go watch it right now or else... Stay tuned for next week when we plan our third vlog!! This week, since it’s an off week, we didn’t really do much. We sort of made a plan for our video next week, but then we just watched NINA. We also played around with different microphones and audio quality. If we want to improve our videos, we should probably invest in a microphone of some kind. But we are all broke and don’t have jobs, so we’ll see.
This week, we got lots of feedback on our video. Most people liked it and thought it was funny. People did leave hate comments, but that is just because they are jealous :). We found that many people didn’t watch our video all the way through. We think this is because the clips got longer, and some boring parts didn’t get edited out because Emily “got tired of editing.” We hope to make this better for our next video. Maybe the three of us can take turns editing so one person doesn’t get tired of doing it. We also want to try and make the video quality better. We talked with Mr. Barker about different ways to achieve this. For our next video, we think we will be doing something with cooking. That’s the only idea we have right now, but maybe we can add something to keep it interesting. We plan on doing it Friday night at my (Clara’s) house. Hopefully, there will be no schedule conflicts. We are not sure what we will be cooking yet, but it will probably be some kind of dessert because we like sweet treats. I don’t want to reveal too much, but we are thinking about adding a twist to the cooking part to make it more fun. It’s been nice to relax and not worry about freeing up time to get together and make a video, but I am excited for our next video because I think we have a good idea, and I can’t wait for people to see it. |
